We remove CO₂ by bringing nature back

Climate Cleanup brings together entrepreneurs, scientists, policymakers and funders to help nature-based solutions grow. We work with entrepreneurs developing carbon removal across land, ocean, rock and construction, and build the markets, standards, finance and policy around them.

We don't do this alone

Climate Cleanup is an ecosystem of entrepreneurial people working towards one goal: removing 1,500 gigatons of CO₂ from the atmosphere by regenerating nature.

We don’t do this alone. We build a new sector, the New Nature Economy, by supporting the farmers, foresters, seaweed growers and builders who are already doing the work. We ask what they need, help create the conditions for them to grow, learn together, and start again.

We work open source, guided by science, and with a stubborn sense of hope.

Why Nature?

To stabilise the climate we need to do three things: reduce emissions, remove the excess carbon, and restore natural ecosystems.
Nature is the most effective way to do the second and third at once. It is far cheaper than technological alternatives, and it gives back what we need to thrive: healthy soil, clean water, food and biodiversity.
Yet natural climate solutions can deliver over a third of the climate mitigation needed this decade, while receiving less than 3% of climate funding. We’re working to close that gap.

Listening to life

A Life Node is a small solar box for the field. It listens to birds and bats and feels the soil. The Life Oracle adds what satellites see, and reads whether life is thriving there. Open standard, open software.

Oncra

Carbon removal can only grow if people trust the numbers. That's why Oncra started at Climate Cleanup. It's now an independent company with an open system for measuring and certifying the carbon that nature stores.
